Agent Engineering
Multi-Agent Systems
We design systems where multiple specialised agents collaborate on a larger task, with clear delegation, shared state and a trace of every handoff.
- 01INTENTA larger task arrives.
- 02SUPERVISORThe work is planned and delegated.
- 03SPECIALISTSSpecialist agents run, in parallel where possible.
- 04HANDOFFControl passes with the context it needs.
- 05MERGEResults are combined and checked.
- 06RESULTOne outcome, with a trace of every agent's part.
What it is
We use multi-agent architectures when specialisation, delegation, parallelism, isolation or independent context genuinely justify them — and not otherwise. A second agent adds a handoff to test, a boundary to secure and a trace to follow.
Where agents need to interoperate, we use open protocols such as A2A. MCP connects agents to tools and data; A2A connects agents to agents.
When you need it
- SIGNAL 01One agent's context is overloaded with tools, instructions and data it rarely needs.
- SIGNAL 02Parts of the task need different specialisations, permissions or models.
- SIGNAL 03Independent sub-tasks could run in parallel.
- SIGNAL 04Agents from different teams or vendors need to work together.
What we build
The engineering.
- 01
Supervisor and planner agents
An agent that breaks the work down and delegates it, then assembles the result.
- 02
Specialist agents
Agents with narrow instructions, tools and permissions, each good at one part of the job.
- 03
Handoffs and routing
Clear rules for which agent takes which request, and how control passes between them.
- 04
Parallel agent execution
Independent work fanned out and joined back together.
- 05
Shared state and inter-agent communication
What agents share, what they keep isolated, and how they talk to each other.
- 06
Agent lifecycle management
How agents are versioned, evaluated and retired as the system grows.
How it works
One run, end to end.
- 01
INTENT
A larger task arrives.
- 02
SUPERVISOR
The work is planned and delegated.
- 03
SPECIALISTS
Specialist agents run, in parallel where possible.
- 04
HANDOFF
Control passes with the context it needs.
- 05
MERGE
Results are combined and checked.
- 06
RESULT
One outcome, with a trace of every agent's part.
What it integrates with
Chosen for the workload and your environment — not a preferred provider.
- A2A
- MCP
- Agent SDKs
- Agent frameworks
- Custom orchestration
- Shared state stores
In production
Production is part of development.
Evaluation, security, deployment and operations begin before release — on this service as on every other.
EVAL
How we test it
- Per-agent evaluation and end-to-end evaluation of the whole system.
- Handoff and routing tests, including what happens when an agent fails.
- Trajectory evaluation to catch loops, redundant work and wasted cost.
POLICY
How we secure it
- Separate identity and least-privilege permissions per agent.
- Isolation of context and tools between agents that should not share them.
- Audit logging of every delegation and handoff.
RUNTIME
How we deploy it
- Agents deployed and versioned independently or together, as the system needs.
- Rollback of one agent without taking down the rest.
TRACE
How we operate it
- Handoff traces that show which agent did what, and why.
- Cost and latency tracked per agent and per run.
What you receive
Engineering outputs, not a deck.
We do not hand over a prototype and leave production engineering to you.
- 01A multi-agent architecture justified against a single-agent baseline
- 02Supervisor, specialist and routing logic, built and documented
- 03Shared state and communication design
- 04Evaluation suite covering agents, handoffs and the whole run
- 05Per-agent permissions and audit logging
- 06Tracing across every handoff
